Working with me
I work with a portfolio of only very select clients. They are consistently satisfied, and many are retained or repeat customers. Their testimonials are your security that I offer value for money as well as expertise, insight and a genuinely different perspective.
You know your business better than anyone. I can add an alternative view and effective challenge based on a deep knowledge of the legal market and its regulatory environment. That means I will not take your challenges, issues or problems away and send you a standardised solution. I will work with you, your colleagues and teams to develop bespoke solutions.
My real expertise is working with senior leaders. Investors, founders, CEOs, senior partners and their executive teams find that I offer the appropriate balance between expert advice, non-executive style challenge and support and detailed insight and advice. Of course that is focused on regulatory issues but I operate at the strategic level rather than compliance.
If we need to talk to your customers, conduct surveys or commission research I can help with that too. In addition I have a wide network of other experts to access if I cannot deliver all that you need alone.
I know that good ideas need organisational ownership if they are ever to be delivered. I will help you navigate your governance and build organisational buy-in to any solutions we develop.
Giving you a choice of a day rate, fixed fees for specific projects, or the security of a monthly retainer that ensures I am more readily available, I will deliver value for money. Whatever your choice you can be assured that I will focus on what you want.
My preference is to work with only a small number of select clients. My portfolio of work is usually a mix of discrete projects and on-going retained relationships, so I can be flexible and respond to urgent issues quickly.

I have always recognised the importance of supporting and promoting diversity. That is more than mere compliance with the law; it must be built upon sound organisational values and practice. I build diverse teams, promote social mobility and help legal businesses think about these issues, whatever their business strategy.
Pro Bono
I offer some charities and start-ups with a social purpose some of my time at a reduced rate.

Environmental
I work digitally wherever I can. I minimise travel and eschew an office. This has the dual benefit of securing value for money and protecting the environment.
I commit to giving 5% of my profits to charities.
My choice of charity is Central England Law Centre.
Central England Law Centre (what Coventry Law Centre has grown into) supports local people who are facing poverty, discrimination and exclusion with their legal rights. It is where I started my career in the legal market and its impact is totally disproportionate to the funding it receives.
